Andy & Cassie’s Gervasi Wedding

The wedding wasn’t small but still very intimate.  Close friends and family surrounded the couple as they were married just a couple weeks ago.  Cassie’s bridal party was made up of girls she had known before middle school.  Some were even in her preschool class. It says a lot about one’s character when people you met as a child stand by you for decades…just as close as they were then.

Andy’s party may not have known him quite as long, but they were just as loyal.  There was no question that these two were supported by all who attended.

I am so thankful to have been included in their day and meeting so many sweet people.  I wish so many blessings for your new life together.

Gray & Yellow Vineyard Wedding

When I met Katie I knew immediately that her calm demeanor was unlike most brides I have worked with.  She’s a woman that knows what she wants and carries herself with dignity and class.  That couldn’t have been more true on the day of her wedding.  She was calm and collected and ready to marry the man she loves.

Micah too but in a different way.  He describes himself as the “mature one” of his friends.  And, I think he’s right. ;)  He has a quiet and relaxed attitude that combines with Katie and makes them great to be around.

Their wedding was at Gervasi Vineyard in Canton and the weather was PERFECT.  They chose to see each other before the ceremony (which I love!) and we were able to capture some amazing photographs of their first look.  There is just something about the moment when the bride and groom see each other that I adore…and I love it so much more when they get to have that moment alone (well, alone with a photographer or two.)

My favorite highlights:

  • The yellow and gray details…just beautiful
  • A bridal party that kept me laughing all day
  • Micah and Katie seeing each other and capturing their “First Look”
  • …And I’m pretty sure I can still hear everyone singing Call Me Maybe while tearing up the dance floor

Saxophones to Engagement Rings

Sometimes opposites attract and sometimes it’s the things we have in common that bring us together.  This was the case with Andy & Cassie.  They met in the University of Akron marching band where they played saxophone together.  Throughout hours of playing and marching in heat and cold, they got to know each other.

Saxophones aren’t the only thing they have in common.  They also share a love of cruise ships.  And, right before they took a cruise, Andy surprised Cassie with a shock she wasn’t expecting in the form of a ring.  She said yes and I have the pleasure of working with them on this session and their upcoming wedding.

We headed to their old stomping grounds first and then to Sand Run for some park shots.
